Before we get to the business of the day, a short announcement: Black Summer, the second book in the Washington Poe series has just been longlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger Award for Best Crime Novel. Those of you with reasonable memories will know that The Puppet Show actually went on to win the 2019 award. Only Peter Dickinson has ever won it two years on the bounce (1968 & 1969) so this is all very exciting. Read the press release here.
Anyway, on to the more important stuff – how you can win a £30 book token without leaving your house.
To celebrate the publication of The Curator, in collaboration with Kenilworth Books, I have created a little game of Cludeo …
Here’s how it works:
Starting on 4th June (which is publication day) Kenilworth Books will be posting one clue a day. You need to find the answer to each clue and take the first letter. When you have all 10 clues answered, unscramble the letters and email them the answer before 15th June (make sure you put #CravenCluedo in the email subject!!!). Their email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. They will choose a winner from all the correct answers.
The winner will get a £30 book token to spend at their shop (don’t worry if you live the other end of the country, they can take orders by phone or email and post out to you free of charge in the UK – or you can have a browse of the signed and special edition books on their website!). The link to the page on their website is here.
You don’t have to have read the books to work out the clues, although you may have to work a little harder.
Here are clues 1 & 2:
We’ll be posting clues over all our channels over the next 10 days and if you miss a day, don’t worry, they’ll all be on Kenilworth Books’ site. And on the 10th day I will post all ten for those who have missed some.
Best of luck everyone.
